Winter is here! Snow removal responsibilities for the Harmony community are split between homeowners, the City of Aurora, the Harmony Master Homeowners Association, and the Powhaton Metro District No. 2. Learn about your responsibilities below.
As a homeowner, you are required to maintain your property and the sidewalks bordering your lot. This maintenance includes snow and ice removal and landscape care. Corner lot owners are responsible for the sidewalks on all sides of their lot, not just the front.
To ensure pedestrian safety, the City of Aurora code enforcement officers respond to citizen complaints concerning lack of snow and ice removal from sidewalks.
Contact Access Aurora at 303-739-7000 with any snow or ice removal concerns. Please wait 24 hours from the last snowfall before reporting a violation.
City of Aurora
The streets within Harmony are maintained by the City of Aurora, which includes snow removal and all other maintenance of the streets. As of the 2019-2020 winter season, Harmony has not yet been added to Aurora’s Snow Removal Plan. Snow Removal maps are available on the City of Aurora’s website.
The Association has made a formal request to have all Harmony feeder streets (Alameda, Robertsdale, and Ellsworth) added to the Aurora Snow Plan. If you would like to voice your concern, please contact the City of Aurora directly at 303-739-7000.
The Powhaton Metropolitan District is responsible for providing limited snow removal service for District-controlled trails, parks, drive courts, and collector road sidewalks.
The Association is responsible for snow and ice clearing at The Commons (amenity center).
